Fostering a culture of innovation and social impact
As the world grapples with increasing complexity and interconnectedness, empowering young minds with the skills, mindset, and passion to drive towards a positive change is more crucial than ever. Social Entrepreneurship is emerging as a vital skill that enables young individuals to think creatively, solve problems, and develop innovative solutions.
O.D.M Public School has incorporated Social Entrepreneurship into the CPX curriculum to train young minds to think like problem solvers, business magnates, and contribute to overcoming the underlying challenges in society. Through CPX Social Entrepreneurship, Students not only learn to contribute to social change but also gain valuable insights into the broader applicability of their knowledge and skills.
Experts believe that practical experiences are key to teaching entrepreneurship. Internships, start-up incubators, mentorship programs, and school projects that encourage business plan development and pitches can provide young minds with hands-on experience. This enables them to learn by doing, experimenting, and iterating, essential skills for any entrepreneur.
Social Entrepreneurship is not just about starting a business; it’s about developing a mindset that is adaptable, resilient, and innovative. To foster this mindset, young minds need to be encouraged to think creatively, take calculated risks, and learn from failures.
Activities like design thinking, prototyping, product development, and designing can help achieve this. Mentorship is also vital in entrepreneurial learning. Teaching faculty at ODM get monthly training to support the students in their Social Entrepreneurial Journey.
Pairing young minds with experienced entrepreneurs or mentors can provide valuable insights, guidance, and support. Mentors can help students navigate the entrepreneurial journey, offering feedback, encouragement, and industry connections.
We are creating a culture that encourages creativity, experimentation, and learning from failures. It is essential for instilling entrepreneurship in young minds. Activities like brainstorming sessions, hackathons, and innovation challenges can help foster this culture.
In their CPX Social Entrepreneurship Projects, students have been assigned roles and responsibilities to make them understand that they can easily fit into these corporate positions and try testing their potential. Some of the positions are – Committee Head, Project Management Head, Marketing Head, and Fundraising Officer. Such learning engagements will not only boost their skills but also equip them to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment and keep them on their toes. The crux is to evolve the student’s hidden entrepreneurial abilities and polish them to shine amidst the crowd and stand out in the race of ingenuity while contributing back to society.
We inspire and enable changemaking in the public at large, and work to give all citizens the confidence and tools to solve problems for the good of all. Specifically, we focus on preparing the next generation to navigate this rapidly changing world by ensuring all young people have the critical skills they need.
